Descartes Excellence & Innovation Award, a peer-driven program, is presented to one deserving employee each quarter, in recognition for their contributions in helping to make Descartes’ customers, partners, and fellow employees successful. Eligible Descartes employees must have demonstrated ‘Innovation’ by sharing valuable ideas to develop new or better processes, tools, methods, systems, products or services in support of Descartes’ mission; and ‘Excellence’ by performing their job with integrity and to the highest professional standards, exceeding expectations while achieving exceptional results for external and/or internal stakeholders.
We are pleased to announce our first quarter award winner for fiscal year 2015, Mouktar Bouraleh, Implementation Consultant based out of Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Mouktar’s peers nominated him for his tireless customer advocacy and high level of professionalism during the recent implementation of a delivery solution for a global home improvement specialty retailer.
Descartes’ Vice President of Implementation Services, Bob Marquis, noted in his nomination that Mouktar often went above and beyond in order to ensure that the customer received the best solution possible. Bob said, “Mouktar worked with internal Product Management and Development resources to impart his experience and the suggestions of the customer on product growth and the maturity process during the delivery solution deployment. He has been not only a customer advocate, but internally a champion for the change necessary to make our solutions world class and adaptable to many future opportunities.”
Chad Murphy, Vice President of Professional Services at Descartes, was impressed with Mouktar’s high level of professionalism and very strong work ethic while working on the project to create the customized solution. “Mouktar's efforts related to increasing the performance of the solution and managing the surrounding processes have been tremendous,” said Chad. “Working with the customer and our internal teams to find new and innovative approaches to enhance the solution is paying off in a huge way for all parties involved.”
We asked Mouktar to share his reaction to winning this award and his thoughts on being a member of Descartes O.N.E. L.E.A.R.Ning T.E.A.M. “Although the nomination has been presented to me, I could not have accomplished any of the tasks and challenges without the assistant of others, including engineers and other professional service team members. The project was truly a challenge which is what made it become my obsession each day, and if it was not for the team work between different departments within Descartes as well as customer's teams, we could not have accomplished what we did. I truly believe it is the spirit of teamwork at Descartes and at the customer's organization that helped us to face any challenges. So, this award is for all those who were involved in this project.”
