Descartes CEO Ed Ryan, in an interview by American Shipper's Eric Johnson as part of the Adam Smith Project, discusses the inevitable impact of many of the world's governments protectionist views on free trade agreements, tariffs, quotas, and possibly more specific regulatory areas like rules of origin. All of this will put an increased emphasis on two areas: shippers’ reliance on logistics service providers and customs brokers, and those LSPs’ reliance on technology.
