Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine: Wagner Group and RIA FAN added to the EU's sanctions list

The Council today decided to add the Wagner Group and RIA FAN to the list of those subject to EU restrictive measures for actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. Today’s decision completes the ‘Wagner package’ adopted on 25 February and underscores the international dimension and gravity of the group’s activities, as well as its destabilising impact on the countries where it is active.

Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain third countries concerning restrictive measures in respect of actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine

The Council prolonged the restrictive measures until 15 September 2023 and updated the information in the Annex to Decision 2014/145/CFSP concerning 171 individuals and 65 entities. Additionally, the entries for three deceased persons, as well as two duplicate entries were deleted from that Annex.

The Council prolonged the restrictive measures until 6 March 2024 and updated the information in the Annex to Decision 2014/119/CFSP regarding the rights of defence and the right to effective judicial protection.

Statement by the High Representative on behalf of the EU on the alignment of certain countries concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Belarus and the involvement of Belarus in the Russian aggression against Ukraine

The Council Decision prolongs the restrictive measures against Belarus for one year, until 28 February 2024, and amends the entries of certain persons subject to restrictive measures set out in Annex I to Decision 2012/642/CFSP.
